Meet Our Staff

William R. Bailey, PT, DPT, OCS, STC

William R. Bailey“Bill” has been a vital part of the Brookville area healthcare system since 1984. After serving in the U.S. Army, having attained the rank of Major, Bill and his wife, Debbie, moved with their two sons to Brookville. In 1988, they started Cornerstone Physical Therapy from a passion to provide the area with the most advanced physical therapy services possible with compassion and caring.

Bill’s background includes 31 years of physical therapy experience, including a Masters of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in Texas and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, with an emphasis in Sports Medicine, from the University of St. Augustine in Florida. He earned his Physical Therapy Specialist Certifications in both Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Physical Therapy. As an educator, Bill has taught college courses and presented national physical therapy seminars.

Bill and his family are active in the community through church and youth activities, as well as serving on local committees and boards. For fun, he enjoys hunting, camping, biking, and just about anything outdoors. To top it off, Bill is a qualified bullfighter – even at his age!

Professionally, Bill is an active member of the A.P.T.A. (American Physical Therapy Association), the Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Specialist Group, the A.A.O.M.P.T. (American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists) and the I.F.O.M.T. (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manual Therapists).

Melany Rhoades, PTA

Melany Rhoades, PTAMelany Rhoades is a lifelong resident of the area and seems to be related to everyone! Melany has been with Cornerstone Physical Therapy since 1989. Starting as an aide, Melany then earned her Physical Therapy Assistance degree through the Pennsylvania State University. Melany is married and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She enjoys reading, cooking and baking in her spare time. In addition, she is active with her local church and has participated on several mission trips.


Amy Whitney, PTA

Amy Whitney, PTAAmy Whitney has been at Cornerstone Physical Therapy since 2002, having graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with her Physical Therapy Assistance degree. Prior to course work at Penn State, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in General Science/Biology from Wheeling Jesuit University. Over the years, Amy has worked in acute care, transitional care, and outpatient physical therapy. She is particularly interested in myofascial release and vertigo intervention. For fun, she enjoys cooking, kickboxing, and helping her husband in his auto racing endeavors.


Jill McManigle, PT Aide

Jill McManigle, PT AideJill McManigle, our physical therapy aide, came to the Cornerstone Physical Therapy family in 2006. We have a busy clinic and Jill keeps the staff moving to the correct patients and helps patients to their appropriate locations. She will keep you hustling and motivated while accomplishing your exercises. Jill is married and has two children. For fun, she enjoys photography and watching her kids play softball.


Shelly Hammond, PT Aide

Shelly Hammond, PT AideShelly Hammond joined the Cornerstone team in October of 2010. Shelly is a graduate of Clarion University where she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing. Shelly enjoys helping people and loves working in Cornerstone’s “positive environment of healing”. She is married to Rocky, with whom she helps to pastor the First Baptist Church in New Bethlehem, PA, and leads the singing. They have been blessed with 3 sons, 1 daughter, and an ever growing family of grandchildren. Shelly loves to spend time with her family and friends and also enjoys reading, sewing, and singing.

Nicole McGinnis, Linda Knapp, and Debbie Bailey – Our Administrative Staff

Debbie Bailey, Amy Knapp, and Linda KnappFrom your first phone contact with Cornerstone Physical Therapy to your final visit, you will find our business staff to be the friendliest and most helpful in the medical field. Debbie Bailey, Linda Knapp, and Nicole McGinnis have more than 36 combined years of experience in medical administration. They do all the "behind the scenes" hard work with your insurance companies and are always there to answer your questions with compassion, patience and care. They work hard with the paperwork, so you don’t have to!

Debbie Bailey graduated from Bloomsburg State College with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and married Bill Bailey in 1976. They have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren, whom they love to visit. Debbie taught second grade prior to having children and then became a full time, stay at home wife and mother. In 1988, Bill and she founded Cornerstone Physical Therapy, with Debbie working as Business Manager. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, sewing, singing with her guitar, and teaching in various opportunities.

Linda Knapp has been employed by Cornerstone Physical Therapy since 1999 and is our Office Manager. She began her working career in banking and has been working as a professional administrator for many years. She is married to Brian and has two children. Linda enjoys being with her family, getting together with friends, outdoor activities, and sports.

Nicole McGinnis started at Cornerstone Physical Therapy in January 2011. She graduated from Butler County Community College with an Associate Degree in Medical Office Administration. For fun, she enjoys cooking and baking, spending time with her Fiance, and visiting New York City.
